Christi Clay, CSFM

North Area Athletic Complex – Golden, CO

Christi works for Jeffco Public Schools as the Sports Stadium Manager at the North Area Athletic Complex in Golden, CO. She is responsible for managing 2 natural grass fields which host varsity games for 6 local high schools, along with numerous other events. Christi has been a member of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game turf management crew, STMA’s Sporting Grounds Field of the Year turf crew and STMA’s High School Field of the Year for both Soccer and Football and the US Women’s Open Turf Crew. She served as Executive Director of CSTMA from 2006-2015 and returned in 2017 to fill the same position. A native of Ironton, Ohio, Christi graduated from Denison University with her B.A. in Economics. Christi earned her Certified Sports Field Manager designation in July 2017.

Sun Roesslein, CSFM

North Area Athletic Complex – Golden, CO

Sun Roesslein, CSFM, is in her 17th season at the North Area Athletic Complex in Golden, CO. The NAAC is comprised of a football stadium and a soccer stadium, side by side, both natural grass surfaces. We are the home stadium for 6 of the high schools in Jefferson County public schools. The NAAC has been awarded STMA’s field of the year for each stadium. Regarding logos, Sun has painted many at her stadium for playoff games, multiple Colorado state track meets, two MLB All Star games, and most recently at Coors Field for Larry Walker’s hall of fame induction. Sun is an active member of STMA, serves on several committees and currently is the President-Elect for the National Association.

Jessica Lenihan and Evan Fowler are both graduates of Penn State University’s Turfgrass Science program. Each spent over a decade in their respective parts of the industry, Jess a former assistant golf course superintendent and Evan as an assistant groundskeeper in Major League Baseball. Their expertise in golf and sports fields brings them to unique positions now with Green Valley Turf in Platteville, Colorado. Green Valley turf has been farming sod since 1962, now around 1000 acres of Kentucky bluegrass, Tall Fescue, Bermuda Grass, Buffalo, and Bentgrasses all grown in various soil types for a wide range of professional and residential applications.

Kelly Lynch, PGA
Regional Sales – Northern US

Kelly Lynch is a rare female Class A PGA member and is in the 1% of females who has coached both Division I Men’s and Women’s Golf, Division I Rowing, and Professional Golf.  

Kelly earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at Eastern Washington University. 

Combined Kelly has 30+ years leading teams in professional environments and collegiate athletics.  Currently, Kelly is looking to lead transformations in the turfgrass world.  With the mentorship of Dr. Leah Brilman, Kelly fell in love with the turfgrass industry. The ability to build strong professional relationships while keeping everything green was a perfect fit.  Today Kelly works for Pure Seed as their Northern US Regional Manager. 

When Kelly says that she is from Oregon and sells grass… people are like… cool!  Kelly then has to correct them and say …” not the kind you smoke… the kind you play golf on!”

Kelly is most proud to be one of the 29 female turf professionals that made history when they broke the Grass Ceiling at the 76th US Women’s Open.
